David to leave Doctor Who

During the National Television Awards, David Tennant – the 10th incarnation of the Time Lord – announced that he will not be reprising the role after the 2009 specials.

The television star has been in the main role of the Doctor since 2005 - taking after Christopher Eccleston – his first full episode was the Christmas special where he battled to save the planet Earth on top of a spaceship.

David says his reason for leaving is due to the fact he feels like if he doesn’t do it now – he never will. As of yet – no replacement has been announced.

What I’m Doing

Bored, need to post, so here’s what I’m up to until school starts on the 4th.

Saturday
Going to see Ashley karting, I’m going with Michael and his Dad, should be fun.

Monday
Michael and Ashley are coming over for a sleepover, ping pong all night!

Tuesday
Going for a “end of summer” meal with the guys at Red Hot. Yummy.

Then it’s school. Year 11, should be fun.

Seems Like I Havn’t Posted In Ages

Who enjoyed last nights Doctor Who finale? I did, it was brilliant. All the story arcs all neatly tied together, the TARDIS filled with the Doctor’s friends, Davros’ insane laugh and not actually seeing his death was a good touch, the double Doctor was also good, and that Rose is now living in the paralel world with Doctor number two is all good. The part where Donna’s memory of everything she’s done with the Doctor is pretty sad, I liked her as a companion.

Have to wait till 2010 to get another full series. Oh well, a mini-episode will be aired on the 27th this month so not long to wait.

The Stolen Earth

What a great episode, it had everything: Daleks, Davros, Cann, Rose, Sarah, Jack, Torchwood, missing planets, schemes and the best cliff hanger to date. Now, I don’t think the regeneration is going to happen as we think it might, for example: if you pause at the moment the Doctor gets hit, only the top half of his body is exterminated, David Tennant has been seen filming the 2008 Christmas special, he still has yet to meet Professor River Song in his tenth re-incarnation, David Tennant is on the cast notes for next weeks episode, and there hasn’t even been any rumors lately of David leaving before the episode aired. So I hope he is still the Doctor. There are some pictures of the episode below. I hope they put up wallpapers of Davros on the Doctor Who BBC website after next weeks episode. Sorry for the low quality of pictures, haven’t had chance to download the episode, so all screenshots from iPlayer streaming service and saved as JPEGS. Can’t wait until next week, hope there’s more Davros in it, and Caan.

The Unicorn and the Wasp

What a great episode of Doctor Who. I liked how the story actually tied in with the real life mystery of the ten day’s that Agatha Christie went missing for.

If you didn’t see it, catch up on iPlayer.

Doctor Who-isum

Woo! A really good episode, I hope, of Doctor Who tomorrow, entitled “The Doctor’s Daughter”. Looks cool, the Doctor’s daughter, plays the Doctor’s daughter, Wikipedia it if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

I also just realized that the clever person on last weeks episode is “Alex” from “After You’ve Gone”. Pretty cool, really.

I’ll be back later, pretty busy right now.

The Doctor’s Hair?

First we had the huge quiff on last weeks episode, Planet of the Ood, and now it seems as if he’s gone mad on the sides of his hair. Now, I like the front of it, but maybe the make up department should calm down a little? I like his hair, a lot. Infact my hair is basically the same, but isn’t it going a bit to far now?
