My good friend Michael got a really awesome camera for his birthday, soon after he came round to my house along with my other good friend Ashley. After some of our hourly visits to Whibleys - our local corner shop - we somehow always sway the conversation onto how Ashley wants to squeeze my hamster. It dawned on me that I hadn’t take any pictures of my new hamster; photo opportunity.
Sweet; isn’t it? For more lovely pictures like this of Michael’s, visit his Photobucket page.
I’m a big fan of Stephen Fry’s podcasts - or podgrams, as he prefers to call them. My favorite podgram is the one where he discussed the license fee - boring it sounds, but particularly interesting. Coming in a close second as my favorite, is the latest podgram: Language. As the title suggests, Mr. Fry discusses the uses and the meaning of language.
His website is located here, have a rummage around the sections and subsections and view some little gems of the genius that is Mr. Stephen Fry.
Oh how I love and enjoy getting to view a sneak peak of what the good old BBC have up their sleeves this Christmas. Watching the trailers for the comedy and drama really, really make me happy and ‘Christmassy’ - if there is such a feeling. The music they use in the trailers is just brilliant, there’s just something about it that makes me smile.
Incase you haven’t seen the trailers; you can view them below.
What will you folks of the internet be getting for Christmas? I will be getting – kindly from my parents– a Sony Ericsson C902 in Titanium as pictured below.
Oh how time flies! I had no idea how soon the movie release was – 31st of October 2008 – I’ll be going to see it on the first weekend of it’s launch. I’ve seen loads of trailers and currently listening to the soundtrack on YouTube while typing out this post. For those who don’t know the film picks up a few minutes after Casino Royale ended with James shooting “Mr. White” – from memory I think that’s who it was – which he did in order to start his journey to finding out who killed Vesper – his lover – and why.
The video game – which is being released on all platforms imaginable - is also being released on the 31st of October. I only found out about the game a couple of minutes ago. The trailers look amazing for the game, I really can’t wait – the specifications for the PC version is also very reasonable and should run just fine on my little laptop hooked up onto my external flat screen monitor and surround sound system, it will be epic.
Way back in 2005 in Season 4 of Family Guy, Frank Sinatra Jr. graced our screens in one of my personal favorite episodes – “Brian Sings and Swings” – well now in Season 7 he’s back. The episode is entitled “Tales of a Third Grade Nothing”, an episode in which Peter has to repeat third grade in order to quality for a promotion at work. Frank Sinatra Jr. fits into the story when he sets up a new nightclub and wants Brian and Stewie to perform with him again to make it a hit.
“Tales of a Third Grade Nothing” airs on November the 16th on Fox.
This weeks episode of Family Guy set a new standard for the current series. With a funny storyline, beautiful animation, hilarious jokes while still maintaining a level of respect, this episode is surely my favorite of any episode to date. The storyline was brilliant – a time travel one, packed full of references to other time travel movies, mainly Back to the Future. I think one of the main laughter points of this episode is that all the jokes came from within the storyline as opposed to the usual cut away gags which can sometime get annoying, another key element of this episode is that there was only one storyline, instead the usual flicking from storyline to storyline and getting lost along the way.
Something I must praise about this episode is the animation – mainly the CGI elements such as the plane fights, the zooming up to the Nazi base, the undersea battles and the car chases. Another hilarious point, near the end of the episode, is where Hitler is willing to let the team of the hook – if they can sign a musical number, when Brian and Stewie begin to dance and sing, Mort hilariously cuts in and shouts: “Will you two just get on the fucking time machine!”. This is also the first time we see Hitler outside of a cut away gag, but I feel that his appearance should of been better used.
Overall I give this episode a 10 out of 10. Well crafted, well animated, well done all involved!
It’s the weekend at last! This week has seemed to last for ages. Not much has happened since my last post - just school. The week has been okay though, school has been pretty relaxed - laughing with friends with some learning on the side.
If your a fan of the The Office, US, then rememeber to watch the latest episode on hulu.com. If your a fan Family Guy, remember to watch the new episode this Sunday where Mort goes to Nazi Gemany via a time machine and Brian and Stewie follow him to save him in Road to Germany.
Havn’t got much else to say really, enjoy your weekend.
